Olivia Giovetti is a New York-based classical music journalist.
I host The New Canon on Q2, a weekly show (Mondays at 4pm EDT) that covers the newest of the new in new music, complete with first listens, free downloads and live chats with featured guest artists. I’m also a regular blogger for WQXR’s opera hub, WQX-Aria.
I also write/have written for Time Out New York, Gramophone, and Classical Singer. She’s also written for the Washington Post, Paper, Classic FM Magazine, Playbill, and 5280. I’m also a fan of travel writing, especially when it includes a cultural component.
A graduate of the City University of New York with a degree in Culture and Communications, my thesis (“Mass Culture Mozart”) centered around Generation X and Generation Y audience cultivation for American opera companies.
